Kemono Friends came to my mind first.

Also, giving Show By Rock!! another chance after dropping it first was also a very good decision. :3

I don't know if I have any really good ones but here's 2:

Watching Beastars: At first I thought "I aint watching no furry shit", but my brother kept pestering me to watch it XD Eventually I caved, and I wasn't immediately impressed but it did grow on me. Season 2 even more so. Overall a really good anime I could easily have overlooked

Dropping fairy tail: I had been watching fairy tail for a long time, mostly due to it being one of the "big shows" at the time, but I actually never really liked it that much. I was perpetually in this self-gaslighting mode of "its gonna get good any second now" or "its not so bad, its just different and I will get used to it". But yeah, I never ended up liking it. I watched it almost like it was an obligation, a chore, and then one day I thought... you know, what if I didn't? XD So I stopped, and almost immediately I felt like I had more energy lol Like a demon that had been haunting me had been excorcised. Its just one of those things, you don't realize how draining it is to do something you don't like until you stop doing it and have a point of comparison.

Watching Mawaru Penguindrum - originally didn't even bat an eye on it, but accidentally saw a blog talking about the show so I ended up watching the first episode, got so invested in it, and now it's been one of my favorites for years.

Watching Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann and Honey & Clover from beginning - saw a bit on TV before, and thought I didn't like them. Actually amazing after really watching it from beginning.

Watching Code Geass and Kuroko no Basket - I avoided any mecha and sports anime before these, ended up enjoying so I am more open about these genres now.

-Listening to my sister and watching Your Name on Netflix when I didn’t watch any anime at the time and honestly wasn’t interested at all in anime and it ended up pulling me into this world.

-Giving One Piece a chance and starting to watch it during the covid lockdown.

-Continue watching the monogatari series even though the first scene was kinda strange throwing you a lot of scenes and text out of nowhere.

Picking up Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya a year after dropping it six episodes in. Something just clicked the second time around and it is now one of my favorites.

Close second is watching all of Higurashi while successfully evading spoilers everywhere. Was one of the most engrossing experiences I've had while watching any TV show, anime or otherwise.

Lastly, Cross Game. Same thing with Haruhi where I watched a small amount but dropped it for a long time before giving it another shot.

~ pushing through a few eps that I didn’t vibe with of Shinsekai Yori, ended up being an excellent payoff and is one of my fave anime now but it was losing my interest for like a split second in the beginning portion with the school trip

~ allowing myself to drop shows

~ looking up comedy anime to watch while doing cardio cuz I didn’t want anything serious during a work out, which led me to Saiki

~ starting shows with many seasons/lots of eps to catch up on even though they seem daunting, I used to mostly stick to 12(ish)eps to avoid the commitment lol

Back in the days, I decided to give a weird shoujo anime, Shoujo Kakumei Utena, a chance. Binged it in three days, was absolutely obliterated by the experience. That was too much good anime at once, so I picked a random "dumb anime with titties" to even it out.
Said dumb anime was Kill la Kill.

Coincidence, or a sixth sense for anime? I still don't know. But after that I couldn't sleep for two nights, and took a break from anime to preserve my sanity 😂 Both shows are still my absolute favs

@BubbaDump420 I am going to go against the flow here, & hope it doesn't get a Season 2. The Manga starts to go off the Rails with their relationship, heck even Marin's personality changes a bit.

For some time, I put Strange Dawn off because I foolishly prejudged it based on the cover and its age rating, which was once PG - Children, despite the ostensibly "unsuitable" themes and subjects for such a demographic. Turned out to be an enjoyable and distinctive anime that didn't have to reduce itself to pretension to exhibit meaning and implore thought.

Anime has a way of enriching lives with its diverse stories, memorable characters, and unforgettable emotions. It’s like an endless adventure where you get to explore different worlds, genres, and cultures. Every anime , every new episode adds something special to my life experience .

Ping-pong? I watched it solely for that Olympics torch badge, just picked the highest rated from that list that all looked to me as shades of brown honestly.
Under no other circumstances I would watch a sports anime featuring full male (and ugly) cast, even friend's rec wouldn't help. Now, it's on my favorites lol.

Also going with the lame option: getting into anime as a whole.

On a whim started watching Demon Slayer S1 after seeing the enthusiastic online chatter. This came without anyone prompting me, after years of friends trying to get me to watch anime and eventually giving up.

I'm also glad I got into seasonals recently. It's fun to shop around and find out pleasant, under-watched shows to enjoy weekly.

First, watching Assassination Classroom. At this point, I was able to find anime in the second decision below.
Second, watching Clannad makes a big change for preference of anime I should watch as well as the characters that I might end up liking.
Third, watching some music-themed anime, so that I could search for more candidates of my favorite songs.
Fourth, although I'm not really into The iDOLM@STER before, the decision to watch The iDOLM@STER Million Live! makes me go deeper into that franchise and find new enjoyment for myself. I want to follow more because of the wide range of music and units.
